Came here for a date night. This is extremely romantic (We saw a proposal! Congratulations to them). Our server was down to earth and extremely helpful. We FEASTED! There are tons of vegetarian options or things that can be modified. Wine list was extensive and cocktails had the standards but also some unique ones. I was extremely excited about the lion's mane dish - as it was a play on steak and potatoes. It was delicious but by the time we got to the nails I barely made a dent in it! You definitely do not leave hungry, bring your appetite and save room for dessert. We'd love to be back to try all the other dishes we didn't have room for.

Long overdue post but really enjoyed my time here at Mister A's in SD! This is a fine dining restaurant where there is a dress code and rooftop seating. Parking was difficult and confusing so we just went with valet. We had to ride up an elevator up to the 12th floor, and we then got seated shortly (booked reservations). My family and I were there to celebrate my parents anniversary. Service was excellent and the views were amazing- we were able to overlook the entire downtown San Diego and even saw planes flying past us that night as well as fireworks from SeaWorld. We ordered the following items: 1) Red Top Pork Belly 2) Salmon Wellington 3) Mushroom Risotto 4) Pork Chop 5) Grilled Sea Bass I didn't think any of the dishes were too extraordinary as most of the items were on the saltier end (risotto and pork chop specifically). What really shocked me was the salmon Wellington, which wasn't too filling like a beef Wellington and the salmon was soft. The pork belly just reminded me of a "try-hard Asian pork belly dish" but westernized. Overall, for a fine dining restaurant, the food isn't anything to rave about but the views make up for this. I don't know if I'd come back here unless it's for a special occasion since the food is pretty expensive. Service was great though; helped us take a lot of beautiful photos and gave great recommendations.

Came here today for Saturday jazz brunch! We surprised my mother in law by having 11 of us there for her birthday. From making the reservation, to a few emailed questions, to Kateryna's service, I was so pleased with the service!! The food was absolutely delicious. Even my brother in law said how impressed he was, he was expecting it to be old school and just not great. Everyone really loved their dishes and drinks. Some highlights- Espresso martini Shrimp & grits Mac n cheese Caesar salad Beignets Sweet potato hash with pork The birthday dessert was incredible and really blew us away. It felt so generous of them. Kateryna was so awesome! The kids meals were good too. Prices made sense, ambience and view were incredible!! I'd love to come back!

Mr A's is a restaurant that I have been dining at for the past 30 plus years now. It has changed ownership a couple of times since then but still remains one of my all-time favorite restaurants in San Diego or anywhere! Reservations are a must if you want to dine in the dining room but you can also dine at the bar without a reservation. The views are uncompromised here, as others have stated you can see the city, airport, San Diego Bay and for many miles from this excellent vantage point atop an office building. But the real reason I come here is for the food. The food has always been outstanding, literally every time I have dined here the food is amazing! I typically order salmon or seafood and Mr A's offers a unique salmon Wellington entree that I haven't seen anywhere else. Also they have my favorite Caesar salad, the dressing is on point where most other restaurants cannot get this right. The side dishes and desserts I have tried have also always been delicious. And the service is off the charts. The bartenders remember me and other patrons and are ready to prepare and serve your favorite beverage upon arrival. It's a nice touch when they remember your favorite drink. Anyway I'm glad Mr A's has persisted for so many years and hope it lasts at least another 30 plus years :-)

Mr's renovation did not disappoint!! As always, the views are incredible. The bar is new and is actually gorgeous. The servers are all super friendly. I love coming here when I want a good meal and to show off San Diego. Tip: don't forget dessert.

We came here around 9:45pm on a Friday night and loooved it. We only had drinks, but they were excellent along with the gorgeous views we were able to stand and admire! The staff was so nice and we loved the way they poured the drinks from the bottle. We're most definitely coming back to try the food next time.

So I'll start by saying that I was looking for a place to have my birthday dinner and my aunt recommended I try out Mister A's. I am a big foodie and I had to say I've never heard of this restaurant. When I'm in San Diego, I tend to eat mostly in La Jolla area. So I decided to lookup the restaurant and I was instantly sucked in. The views from Mister A's are absolutely amazing, especially at sunset. As you sit on the balcony 14 stories high, planes are flying over as they land at San Diego airport. The patio tended to be a little chilly, but each side of the table had a heater which they would turn up or down based on your preference. I started off with an espresso martini which is my go-to drink at the start and end of a nice dinner. The espresso martini was really good, but it didn't stand out as the best for me. We all decided that we were going to do a family style dinner, so we started out with ordering the Baked Epi Baguette. For appetizers, we ordered the Local Blue Fin Tuna Tiradito, Caesar Salad, Red Top Pork Belly, and the Caviar Tater Tots. The Baked Epi Baguette was an excellent start on our journey at Mister A's. The bread was cooked to perfection and you could tell that the butter was homemade. The sea salt gave it an added flavor that intensified the creamy butter. The Local Blue Fin Tuna Tiradito was one of my favorite things we had. As for Fish, I am one who is very picky and it's the reason I tend to lean more towards tuna/swordfish. The tuna was high quality as it melted like butter in your mouth. Between the sauce and the chili garlic crunch, it was a mixture of different textures. I would 100% recommend this item to others. The Caesar Salad was exceptional. Some of our party isn't big on anchovies and the waiter made sure to tell us that it is very blended. This was honestly one of the best caesar salads i've had in a long time. It was also large enough to allow 5 people to each get a generous portion. The Red Top Pork Belly was rather interesting to me. I honestly haven't ever ordered this dish because the name doesn't sound appealing to me. (Eating a Pig's Belly) I have become more willing to try things as i've matured, so I decided to give it a bite. It was honestly so tasty the crispiness of it mixed with the au jus sauce made it savory yet to die for. The Caviar Tater Tots were honestly to to good. It was funny because my cousin was with us and she is very picky like me. She told me that she would try everything besides these, but I convinced her. Her facial expression shifted once she put it in her mouth as she really enjoyed it. Usually caviar is an item that is served the classic way wherever you go. Mixing such a simple thing as a tater tot with creamy fraichy style chantilly and topping it with caviar is the way to go. This was another one of my favorite things we had. Next, for our main dishes we ordered the off menu 12 oz. Australian Wagyu NY Strip, Butter Poached Maine Lobster Cacio E Pepe, Wild Caught Alaskan Halibut, and the 10 oz. Braised Short Ribs. For our sides we ordered the Mister A's truffle fries, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, and Mister A's Mac & Cheese. The 12 oz. Australian Wagyu NY Strip was the item I was most excited for. I have had my fair share of steaks in my life and Australian Wagyu is my favorite. it was cooked to perfection and it sat on mashed potatoes. It melted just like butter in your mouth and the sauce was just too good. Order it if they offer it when you go. The Butter Poached Maine Lobster Cacao E Pepe was my favorite dish of the night. At first I thought it was an expensive dish as it cost $75, but the presentation was beautiful. It came with a full lobster tail and the pasta was covered with shaved black truffles. Mixing all the tastes together was like an explosion in your mouth. It truly was so decadent and I would have eaten most of it, but I had to share with my guests. ORDER THISSSSSS!!!!!! The Wild Caught Alaskan Halibut was everyone else's favorite. It was cooked to perfection and I say this because it is very easy to mess up halibut. The sauce that it was served with tasted like a rich citrusy butter which we were smashing our forks against each other rubbing the pieces around the plate. The 10 oz. Braised Short Ribs were honestly so good too. I am not usually one to order this dish, but the meat was just falling off the bone. My friend picked up one of the bones and the meat slid right off. The gravy that it was smothered with is honestly the part that combined all the flavors of the dish together. The service and ambiance of this restaurant are superb and hard to beat. If this were NYC it would be an easy thing to beat, but the elegance of this restaurant is unlike any other in San Diego. I will be coming back here more often. I also am very fond of how they stick to their dress code rules because most places you go to now, people will be wearing jeans and tshir I give Mister A's a 9.5/10. Continue killing it you guys.

I dined here with a few friends. My friend and I were their guest and they told us to come and enjoy the evening! It was a surprise, or I would have dressed up a bit more, this place is classy, and upscale! Ratified views from the rooftop looking over the whole city. We came for dinner and we were seated at our reservation time. The service and wait staff was honestly so on top of everything and made it feel like such a breezy, relaxed evening. We had lots of cocktails and bottles of wine to share for the table. We ordered a ton of dishes, appetizers, salads, entrees etc. I would order the duck again, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and many of the appetizers. We had dessert but it wasn't anything sensational. Gorgeous restaurant, name a reservation, dress well, and bring $$$!

I took my wife here for a birthday dinner and let me say that this place was perfect for a special occasion like that. The views that you get from here are hypnotizing especially at night. It's also nice that you can see planes landing since it's near the airport and you are actually eye level when they are landing which is super cool. The service was also exceptional the waiters were friendly and attentive. They were nice enough to also move the lamp heaters closer to our table since we were cold which we appreciated. The food was so amazing. We got a beef plate that I can't remember the name of but it was such a beautiful mix of flavors but the star of the show for me was the truffle Mac and cheese. The truffle flavor was so powerful which is right up my alley since I love truffle. Overall this was an awesome meal and perfect for any occasion.
